Paper Doll Revolution Flipping through the pages, my eyes sparkled with anticipation. I suddenly stopped with delight and began cutting out the figures on the page with my clumsy hands. Adhering to the outline to the best of my ability, I snipped out crooked dresses and shoes from the catwalks in Vogue. That was one of the earliest memory I have of myself devoted to fashion. I used to love the paper dolls from my mom’s Home Companion magazines, but I soon ran out resources after she cancelled the subscriptions. Therefore, I paid my revenge through the massacre of her fashion magazines. I learnt to use scissors before I could even write my own name, but as soon as I was taught to draw, my crayon stickman danced through paper and walls. I could not count the times which I have sewn pieces backwards and had to take them apart just to sew them on backwards again or when I woke up frightened by the headless mannequin staring at me on the side of my bed. Therefore, I laid aside my sewing kits and focused on studying business management, which was my second love. The dreaded day of my finals came too soon, with 2 cups of espresso chugged down in the morning, I still couldn't understand the evil numbers and equations that spelt of disaster on my paper. I knew I was doomed. I refused to eat or sleep or be human for weeks after the final exams. After the event in middle school, my determination to study business led me to apply to my one and only dream school… with absolutely no backup plan.
