American legend Duke Ellington once said, “A problem is a chance for you to do your best.” We all face tough situations in life and they may seem like the worst thing ever, but in the long run, they help us. Facing problems is part of life, and what matters is how you go about them. You decide your own fate, so go about life the right way. Overcoming a problem or obstacle in life bring out the best in a person, you come out stronger, and learn from experience. First, though situations bring out the best in a person. People often feel down and have no one to pick them back up. This leads to feeling lonely. Feeling alone and being picked on is not they best feeling in the world. I didn’t have all of my friends backing me up and it was a rough experience. I realized that I had made people feel the same way I felt, from that day I have promised to always try to be positive. I realized I could make people happy, give out helpful advice, and even save lives! Therefore, I always try to make others happy because I know what it’s like to feel down. Second, overcoming a rough obstacle makes you stronger. Going through a traumatic situation helps build strength. The first time you go through something traumatic you doubt your strength, but when you go through another, you know you’ve been there before and made it. American phenomenon, Shaun White, is a professional snowboarder. He is known as one of the world’s best snowboarders, but it was a challenge making it this far. At a young age Shaun had a massive skateboarding incident, this resulted in a broke wrist, fractured ankle, and a fractured skull, among other minor injuries. People watching thought he was dead.
