Abortion is a subject greatly debated & the debates are divided into Pro-Life and Pro-Choice. Pro-Life supporters believe that abortion should be illegal and Pro-Choice supporters believe that it should always be a woman’s decision on whether she keeps a baby, or not. I am Pro-Life. I believe that abortion is a bad thing and that is why women are given other alternatives, if there should be a reason why they can’t take care of their child/children. Pro-Life means that people believe that the government has obligations to preserve all human life, regardless of the intent, viability, or quality of life. Fetal viability is when a fetus is potentially able to live outside the mother’s womb. The earliest a baby can be born is 24 weeks. A study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine looked at nearly 5,000 babies born before 27 weeks of gestation. It found a significant number of babies who were born at 22 weeks, though 22 weeks were considered too early. The earliest baby to have ever survived was born at 21 weeks and 6 days, and this was reported in the news as being a miracle. If abortion are still being given before 24 weeks, then there are viable fetus’ being murdered nearly everyday. There are cases where some doctors falsify documents in abortion clinics and are doing abortions further along that legally allowed.
