Heros put others before themselves. For example, the poem “Frederick Douglass” states, “...with the lives grown out of his life, the lives fleshing his dream of beautiful, meaningful thing,” which proves that Douglass is selfless. Also, in the article “Love Triumphs”, Demonte Love rescues his family from Hurricane Katrina. “...6 year old boy...holding a 5 month-old surrounded by five toddlers who followed him around as if he were their leader.” These people are true heros because of their awareness to the people around them.
