Prison was an obstacle for Malcolm because as a prisoner just like Malcolm they would get stress held upon them to improve their behavior and demonstrate to the prison that they were improving to become a better person. One reason it can be an obstacle because if students are not able to afford to buy the required materials then they can get behind in their classes. For example buying art supplies for an oil paint class or watercolor class. In those two classes you need several materials and the materials can be quite expensive and something we don’t have enough money to buy them all at once. Therefore, we don’t get everything but will need them by next class. Another way to overcome the obstacle is to get scholarships when it’s possible to. Scholarships can be a big help because they give you a certain amount of money which can come in handy to buying supplies for school. Another way to overcome the obstacle is to get into programs that the own college provide to help students with books just like the program Fullerton College provides with which is EOPS and stands for Extended Opportunities Programs. Its a program that provides assistance to students in applying for different types of financial aid available. These little things like the scholarship and program can benefit a college
