Frederick Banting Research Paper

Throughout the history of medicine, there have been several individuals who inspired others and many even changed the course of medicine completely. However, not many have been as invigorating as Dr. Frederick Banting and his gifted assistant Charles Best. His skills and knowledge of diabetes caught the attention of the world. It was through Dr. Banting we have insulin shots, and the priceless knowledge of diabetes and insulin. Dr. Frederick Banting is arguable one of the most influential figures in the history of medicine. Frederick Grant Banting was born on November 14th, 1891 in Alliston, Ontario. He was the youngest of five children of William Banting and Margaret Grant. Banting excelled in numerous public schools and took part in various extracurricular activities. After school, his goal was to pursue in the military field. Unfortunately for him, due to his poor eyesight, he was not enrolled. He then realized further education was the appropriate route and went to the University of Toronto. After he received his Bachelor of Medicine degree in 1916, he worked in the Canadian Medical Corps during World War 1.
