Freddie Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara in a small village in India, was and continues to be a revolutionary artist. The work Mercury produced during his lifetime is some of the most beautiful and inspiring music grace this world. He raitied nothing but confidence and positivity. Growing up in a heavily music influenced environment, I was exposed to Mercury and his art at a young age. It wasn't until my teenage years that i realized the true impact the man and the music had on me and the way i act now. The story of a man who rose to fame from nothing and became a legend is a inspiring one. As a young women growing up in our society was anything but easy. I myself struggled with many self confidence issues. If it wasn't for the lessons and the advice I had accumulated from Mercury as a child I feel I would not be the person I am today. He had a vocal range that only he himself could produce, he amazed people everywhere. When Mercury performed you were not at a rock and roll concert you were at an art performance. He commanded the attention of the crowd and entranced them, he thrived off the control he had over them. This something that i envy and yet inspires me. His workmanship was next level, you could tell in the way he interacted with the crowd he loved what he was doing. I hope that at some point in my life that i can feel the same things he felt, looking out into a crowd of over a 100,000, who have all come to see you and are singing back the songs you wrote alone in some of your darkest hours. He was brave enough to put himself and his thoughts out there because he knew that other people were feeling the same things. He helped so many people and inspired so many lives.
