Freak The Ornithopter Character Analysis

Freak
Dictionary
I chose a dictionary because I feel as if it represents Freaks love for the english language. Although Freak is physically handicapped he is extremely intelligent. Freak has a little body but he has a giant brain. I think the dictionary shows Freaks giant vocabulary. He even made his own dictionary for Max, as if that isn’t impressive enough.
Glasses
The reason that I chose to use a pair of glasses to represent Freak is because he saw the world in his own way. Everyone has a different perspective of the world, Freak saw it in a more exciting version. The way he saw everything, was connected to King Arthur and a quest or a journey. He knew he wasn’t in proper health, so he wanted his life to be fun. He chose to see the world in a happy manner.
King Arthur armor

The armor is what inspired Freak, what Freak hoped for. Freak really wanted to be the first human/robot body. He wanted to be really strong and not be sick. Near the end of the novel Freak knows that’s not going to happen but he doesn’t give up.
Ornithopter
Like Freak the ornithopter has physical limitations. In the novel when Freak and Max are playing with the plastic bird the elastic breaks. When the elastic broke Freak wasn’t mad at all, he was completely calm. He knew it wasn’t broken it just needed some “periodic maintenance”.
Freak and Max
I drew Freak on Max’s shoulders to show the friendship they had. They were the total opposites, but together they were one. Max had the physical skills and Freak had the mental skills. They were stronger as a team. Freak inspired Max to do quests and to go on adventures but once Freak died Max went back to hiding in the dark for a significant amount of time. Until loretta Lee reminds him about his gift from Freak. The gift inspired Max to read and write their story.

The Two Sides of War: The Character Contrast Between Finny and Brinker The Second World War lay heavy on the shoulders of many young men during the war. John Knowles’s characters, Phineas and Brinker, in the novel A Separate Peace, are no exception despite being the leaders of the group of boys at the Devon School. That being said, Phineas and Brinker’s similarities lie there, the two are used as foils in terms of leadership style to highlight the different approaches to dealing with the oncoming realities of war. Phineas and Brinker establish their power in opposite methods to demonstrate the different ways of facing the war. While Brinker is authoritative in his first lines of the novel, from the moment Phineas is introduced to the reader,…

One of the main themes of Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick is real friendship dosen’t look at the outward appearance, they see’s what's on the inside. An example from the book on page 64 is when Freak and Max are going on an adventure and Max says, “Freak is riding up top, which he almost always does now. That way he doesn't have to wear his leg braces or carry his crutches…” (Philbrick 64). This example shows that Max isn’t worried about being called weird or a retard because he has Freak on his shoulders, Max is having fun with Freak and that's all that mattered to him.…

Max was affected by Freak’s death in many ways. He became depressed because he lost the person who was always there for him. They went on many adventures together, and conquered the world together. When Freak died, Max was so depressed he couldn’t deal with it because Freak was a big part in his life. A piece of evidence to support this is, as the text states, “I hid in the down under for days and days and kept the door closed, which is why I missed the funeral and Fair Gwen going away” (Philbrick 158).…

In A Parrot in the Oven by Victor Martinez, He uses dialogue, symbolism and action to show that Manny is a hard working young man who’d protect his family and cared for the ones close to him, but ended up slipping and started being less motivated, looking for where he belonged in life. Manny at first always loved work and would in any way get work experience in as many fields as he can. “I have been working in a variety of jobs” (Martinez p.40). This shows us that Manny loves to be experienced in job fields. It shows that he is very hardworking and ambitious toward a bright future.…

It is often a misconception that one is blinded when under the influence of a negative figure, in reality they are just egocentric. The play Macbeth by William Shakespeare and Budge Wilson's short story "The Charmer" portray the power of influence and manipulation. The round character of Lady Macbeth in the play Macbeth and the static character of Zachary in the shorty story "The Charmer" are similar with their charismatic and provoking personalities. Firstly, Lady Macbeth starts thinking of a plan which she cannot complete alone and decides to involve her husband. " Great Glamis!…
