Freak The Mighty Rodman Philbrick

n the novel Freak the Mighty Rodman Philbrick tells the story of two boys who face many struggles in life. Kevin and Maxwell, the main characters, realize that they both have similarities and differences.❤ In this essay I will be talking about the boys individually and their friendship. Kevin is a very intelligent boy, but was born with birth defects. His father left his mother and him alone after he heard the words, “Birth Defect.” He had a crippled leg and had to use crutches to walk. Kevin was also called Freak because of the way he looks. Kevin knew he was going to die one day when his heart became too big for his body. He claimed to people saying that he will get a robot body, so he could live on and live with a normal sized body. The most obvious difference between Kevin and Maxwell is their sizes. One similarity is that they both are adventurous and love to be together. Both of the boys experience a new view of life when they become Freak the Mighty. By comparing Maxwell to Kevin, it becomes clear that they are very different physically, but they are both living with a huge burden on their shoulders. Kevin is very smart and shows it. On the other hand, Maxwell is smart, but doesn’t learn or show it. Just like transformers they transform into Freak the Mighty. Kevin shows that he smart by using big words and sticking stuck up. Maxwell is smart, but he doesn’t read, write, or study. Because of that everyone thinks he is dumb. In common they both learned a lot when they met each other. Freak and Maxwell make a great team and they also have a great friendship. If we compare them their physical outlooks are different. They would have conquered, but unfortunately Freak went into an eternal
