Friendship “When you’re up in life, your friends get to know who you are. When you’re down in life, you get to know who your friends are.”-Anonymous. For instance, in the novel Freak the Mighty, Max and Kevin demonstrate a strong friendship. Therefore in the novel, they were constantly there for each other, through the good times and the bad times. For this reason, a great friendship should include teamwork and cooperation, trust, and adventures that can’t ever be forgotten. Why does trust help make an enduring friendship? First, trust is what makes two people friends. For example, in Freak the Mighty, Max always carried Kevin on his shoulders to get around quicker. Now, In order for Kevin to go on Max’s shoulders, Kevin must trust Max not …show more content…
For example, in the novel Freak the Mighty, Kevin helped Max learn. In fact, Max needed some help with writing, and getting teachers to understanding himself. As a result, Kevin helped with both of those flaws. He explained to Max everything he needed to know in ways that Max could understand. He also put in some time to help teachers get to know Max a little more, and understand why he does the things he does. Another example of working together is when Max and Kevin stand up for each other. Once Kevin was choking and Max called for help immediately. Another reason as to why cooperation is important in a friendship, is given in the book Freak the Mighty, when Kevin and Max were sent to the principal's office Kevin used long words that the principal couldn’t even understand, even while she was using a dictionary! While using those large words had ended up getting them out of trouble. Also, Kevin helped change other people's perspective on Max to be more positive and outgoing. In addition to all of that, together they were both smart and strong. Throughout the book, they communicated, compromised and compensated for each others weaknesses while working together.
