Some of the bigger differences there were was that when Officer Delinko’s car got painted he didn’t get one of those meter maid carts, like he did in the movie. Also, in the book he drove Roy’s parents to the hospital in his car where as in the movie, he couldn’t because he had a meter maid cart. Another difference was that at the groundbreaking ceremony Mullet Fingers was not in an owl burrow like he was in the book. These differences kind of throw the book and movie out of whack.…

First of all is the scene where the rumble takes place, this was a very important part of the two of them. The first comparable scene is when ( the greasers went to the rumble. ) In both the book and movie they did really well on showing the emotions of characters. I would say that the similarity is with how they described how everyone felt was great in both. There are also differences too. In the book they had so much details on what was happening and how everything rolled out. Now with the movie to me it just looked like one big fight, you couldn't see anything it was just one big blob of people fighting. The ( book ) was more effective during this scene because (it gave more details when it came to…

It seems an unfair view to expect a movie about a book to be exactly the same down to every single detail. Communities of fans will always find something wrong with a story, for it has “failed” to match expectation. Books are a place where someone can be dragged into the story and forget about everything else for a short while. Movies do the exact same thing, except it is seen as an easier way than books for a lot of people. Ignoring obvious differences (such as the fact that one is in picture form, and the other is in words), movies and books may not be so different after all.…
