Do people really need to belong? Over half of the American population feels like they are strangers in their own country and everyone knows the person who feels that they are left out of the crowd. “The Metamorphosis”, by Franz Kafka is about an outsider named Gregor that is alienated by his family and eventually died because of the abandonment. Gregor’s family foreshadowed that they were going to kill Gregor if he did not die soon.
