To begin this lesson I will give a brief overview of the focus wall with what we discussed yesterday. Today we will be focusing on the essential question. Then we will talk about the sight word go and our letter we are working with this week is C/c. I will ask a few brief questions from the class about the material.

Guided Practice:
1. Oral language 1. I will read Franklins Neighborhood to the class on the rug. I will remind the students that this week we are learning about places we go during the week. 2. As I read the story I will ask questions to scaffold the class’s thinking to build off of what we have learned to create new and unique ideas.

Word Work- In My Box Game 1. I will pull out my bright colored box. The class will know what this means. It is time to play the blending game!
2. I will pull a lucky duck and this student will have to use their arms to blend sounds to a picture card I pull from the box. 3. This helps students learn to think out what letters make up words and what sounds are the letters. This is an important skill set being learned. For each student, I call on the rest of the class will be participating on their own doing the same words. I will call on other students at random to see if they have the same answer and to act it out. This is to help make sure the whole class is actively engaged.

5. Phonics- C/c 1. I will first show this C music video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swdTup-Z6M4- The class will dance and sing along with the video in the front of the room. This is a great way to practice the sound C makes and reinforce words that start with C. 2. Students will then go back to their seats. When students have put their papers in their cubbies they will go to the front of the classroom to listen to another song about the word go. This worksheet will help students read, trace, and write the word go. 3. I will go over the instructions on how to complete the page. I will also do an example question to show students how to complete the page. They should know how to do it because this is something similar that we do each week.

7. Minibook 1. Students will go to the rug and find their special spot. We will read a minibook. I will read and then the class will repeat me. 2. I will remind students before they go back to their seat that they will need to use finger and touch each word, read 3 times and then read with a partner. When you are listening to your partner it is important that you do not interrupt them when they are reading. When they have finished reading they can color their books. 3. As the students are reading and coloring I will walk around and work one on one with a few low students who have difficulties with
