Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York. He died in Georgia in 1945 because of cerebral hemorrhage. Roosevelt grew up in a wealthy family in New York. He was the son of James Roosevelt and Sara Delano Roosevelt. His parents and private tutors provided him with almost all his formative education; the Roosevelts had been prosperous for many years, making fortunes in real estate and trade. In 1905, Roosevelt married his distant cousin, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, who was the niece of President Theodore Roosevelt.
