What was his lifetime really like? Well, he was born on the night of January 30th, 1882 in Hyde Park, New York and weighed 10 pounds. Family wise he was the only child of James and Sara Roosevelt. In his career he did a lot like, pushing a record number of bills through Congress during his first one hundred days to help out unemployed people through the depression like a safety net or Security that is used today. One of the laws was New Deal that created jobs for the unemployed. Also, he led the U.S. into WWii after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941 and asked Congress to declare war on Japan then came up with strategies to defeat them the Axis powers. Furthermore, for marriage and children he married his cousin who was Eleanor Roosevelt, they were forced to marry to keep their family name going. They married on March, 17,1905 and had six children but she had one miscarriage so they ended up with five in total. One girl and four boys, their names were Anna, James (after Franklin’s father) Elliot, Franklin D. Jr, and John. While in his many different careers he did multiple things. In 1903 when he received a B.A. degree from Harvard. In 1910 he was elected as the New York State Senate. 1913 became the assistant secretary of the U.S. navy. In 1920 he was nominated for the Vice President. When 1928 came he was elected as the governor of New York. Then, in 1930 he was re-elected as the governor of NY.
