Franklin D. Roosevelt also was known as FDR was as the best president getting America out of the great depression. Also, the only president to have four terms being the 32nd president. Was left permanently paralyzed from the waist down. He was diagnosed with poliomyelitis at the time, but his symptoms are more consistent with Guillain–Barré syndrome. When Roosevelt ran for president in 1932, it wasn’t his first appearance on a presidential ticket. In 1920, he ran for vice president on the unsuccessful Democratic ticket that featured James Cox as president. Franklin was an only child of a wealthy family, he grew up in the New York Hudson Valley.
