Frankie Jo's Loss In The Life Of Livie

Throughout the novel, the characters suffer loss and grief. Billie Jo and her father lose Billie Jo’s new baby brother and Ma. Billie Jo loses her best friend, Livvie, when Livie’s family moves to California to get out of the dust. Also, Billie Jo’s father deals with cancer. Obviously, Billie Jo and the people around her throughout their lives. First, when Billie Jo and her father lost Ma and her newly born baby brother, Franklin, I’m sure this was a horrifying event. Billie Jo mostly likely felt horrible because part of the reason that Ma died is because she was burnt and Billie Jo was the one who threw the bucket.
