Is your life truly yours? If you experience a severe traumatizing event that leaves you completely overwhelmed, by what means would you go to in order to ensure that you remain sane? Even the sane are insane. Life goes on, with or without you. It only makes sense that those who go through traumatic experiences begin to disassociate from the memory to protect themselves, even if there is a chance that they may develop alternate personalities. In the movie “Frankie and Alice” Halle Berry portrays as Francine (Frankie) Murdoch, who is unaware that she is losing control of her entire being. There are many unusual behaviors present in Frankie’s everyday life that make the audience question her sanity. For one, she has “Black Outs” where she transforms into a young Southern-Belle who is also a white supremacist despite the fact that she is clearly an African-American. She gets aggressive when others confront her, and lashes out at those who do not show proper respect to her. This alone is a slightly questionable, but disputably permissible. In one scene she was searching for money to pay for her rent when she found out that she had written a recent check for a dress, in a whole different handwriting might I add.
