A major theme in the book “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley is “Man cannot handle and isn't able to play god or a creator without having difficulty”.Victor creates this monster and he fails to realize the consequences that came with that . He was too cocky and prideful of his achievements and that was his ultimate downfall. This is something we can learn in life , us as humans shouldn't try to control fate and elements like life . His illness conveys how much giving the monster “life” took a toll on him. It’s ironic he was getting sick trying to give something else life.
