In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Victor Frankenstein would have had a secure future if he hadn't abandon the creature. However this is the root of his insanity throughout the story, which is abandoning his own creation . He had potential of molding into something with morals and clear thoughts in hopes to be more human like. Also how Dr. Frankenstein would have to worry less about his family's safety. There are many things that Dr. Frankenstein could have done differently, allowing him to have a better outcome in life.

Take on the example when he entered the family house he had been spying on the family for months and family went to talk to them only to be beaten and cursed at. Also as the monster quotes, “I sickened as I read. `Hateful day when I received life!' I exclaimed in agony. `Accursed creator! Why did you form a monster so hideous that even YOU turned from me in disgust?” This proves that the creature's face isn't the most delightful thing to look at, which also proves the point the creatures wouldn't be accepted because of his scary appearances, which will anger and confuse him just as it did with the family that he had taken care off and attacked him and because if that he set the whole place on fire. However, that is not the only time that he was shunned and attacked by people. There was an incident involving a little girl drowning, as he went to save her successfully the father came to disbelief at seeing to what was holding his daughter, Oblivious to the fact that the creature saved his daughter's life he shot and injured the creature. For example the death of William Frankenstein the youngest in the family was killed at the hand of the creature some time after he swore revenge on his creator. When Dr. Frankenstein found out about this tragedy he went back home were his life slowly fell apart as the creature held his promises of revenge, as did Dr. Frankenstein. “ But, as if possessed of magic powers, the monster had blinded me to his real intentions; and when I thought that I had prepared only my own death, I hastened that of a far dearer victim.”Pg 141.
