Prompt #1: After Victor reads Elizabeth’s letter, he seems very distressed. He didn’t want his family to worry about him like that, so he quickly wrote them back. I think felt this way because the one who told him about the worry his family had for him was Elizabeth. He cared for and didn’t want her to be sad due to his actions. “ ‘Dear, dear Elizabeth!’ I exclaimed when I had read her letter, ‘I will write instantly and relieve them from the anxiety they must feel.’ I wrote, and this exertion fatigued me; but my convalescence had commenced, and proceed regularly.” (Shelley 101). Many times throughout the story the weather changes, from sunny to rainy, to cloudy and to many others. Any time the weather is gloomy, Victor is sad and depressed.
