Frankenstein: A Fictional Narrative

47 looked back at the place that she had come from. It was huge and black. It had the same shape as the screen back in her room. It did not belong in this place of pure beauty. The Voice had lied. Told her that her life was the only life. 47 felt a new feeling now. She felt her body tighten and heat. She felt this one in her head. 47 was angry. She decided to leave, though, and forget about anger. It didn’t make her feel good. After all, what could she do?
Then she saw movement out of the corner of her eye. She heard rustling. A huge black creature stepped right in front of her. It was tall. Almost twice as tall as 47. And it had claws and big teeth. The same figure as the creature she had seen before, but bigger, hairier and scarier.

“Bwrooouuugt” the creature replied. 47 released now, that not only were there more things in life but more creatures. That she could bond with and share feelings with. She saw another word on 9340’s tag. “Bear”. 47 wrapped her arms around the ‘bear’ and squeezed. It made her feel good. Warm and cozy. She made a new sound. A sound of joy. Laughter! But it was cut short when she heard a voice coming from the distance.
“Hey you! You’re not supposed to be here!” 47 froze. It’s the Voice. But it wasn’t. It didn’t sound like the Voice. 47 turned her head. Standing a few yards away was another creature. It bore more resemblance to the creature she had first encountered, back in the big black box. But it looked different. Would it understand me if I tried to speak again?
“What are you?” she asked. It came out more like, “Uh are ooh?”
“I am a human. Just like you. You have found your way outside. I have to bring you in. Back to life.” the human

I’m not. It’s just because we both can talk. You did it. I was very impressed. My biggest similarity to the Voice is my job. To put you back where you belong. I will bring you back to life. Don’t struggle.” 47 continued to scream. The human brought her through an opening in the building. He dragged her through the halls. It reeked of gasoline and alcohol. 47 couldn’t place the smell, but she hated it. She was very angry now. It brought her into a small room and shoved her into a chair. It wrapped some black cloth around her hands and tied them to the chair. She tried to break free, but her struggle was in vain.
47 wanted to go back. To all the things she had grown to love. But she couldn’t. She didn’t have that anymore.
“I will now wipe your memory. You will go back to life and you will forget this incident.” 47, again, tried to break her restraints. The creature attached a cord to her head. 47 didn’t want to go back. It just wasn’t fair! She felt water drop from her eyes. This new feeling was the worst yet. She didn’t feel it in her stomach. Nor in her head. She felt this one in her chest. Her heart. It ached and made her eyes heat up. More liquid fall from her face. Each drop hit the floor with a faint pop. A clock counting down to her loss of everything she loved. What would happen after? What would become of

By the time Briar Rose made her way back to Sara's fortress, the sky was utterly dark but for the light of the stars and the waning moon. The Sea Kingdom was beautiful, there was no doubt about that, and it was a comfort to see a clear night sky again now that most of the magical residue had begun to fade away. Idly, Rose dragged her fingertips along the smooth stone of the outer walls as she walked, not quite ready to go inside just yet. Even though here she was free to come and go as she pleased, there was still something very confining about a castle when compared with the sixteen years she had spent in the woods, and the many months she had spent camping with the wicked fairies during the height of the war.…
