Sinatra was born on December 12, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey. Sinatra dropped out of high school; he wanted to be a singer after seeing Bing Crosby perform in the mid 1930’s. After performing on a local radio show contest he started to get his first taste of stardom when he asked to become part of Harry James's band. He had campaigned for Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1944 when he ran for a fourth term. Later on he also campaigned of John F. Kennedy actually he became quite fond of the young new president. They had a good relationship until the president turned down Sinatra’s offer to spend the weekend with because of his relations with the chicago mob boss Sam Giancana. Sinatra seemed to like the side that won or was predicted to win because in the 1970’s he became a republican. He help Richard Nixon campaign along with his friend and actor Ronald Reagan.
