Frank Lloyd Wright was born June 8, 1867 in Richland Center, Wisconson into a large welsh family (biography). Eventually, they settled in Spring Green, Wisconson where he later built his most famous house, Taliesin (brittanica). He found that he liked the architectural works of Louis Sullivan and soon became chief assistant to Louis Sullivan. Other young architects were looking for the same employment and soon this idea came to be known as,"prarie school." His most famous home "Taliesin" was also his architectural school and winter home (library of congress).
A year later, he married 19-year old Catherine Tobin and eventually had six children (biography). He began to make a series of residual houses on the next several years (biography.) Each home was single-story, had a low pitched roof, and was only built from materials around the area giving it true beauty. During the 20s and 30s a great depression swept over the U.S (biography). He became a teacher during this time in writing (biography). The same year Wright founded the Taliesin Fellowship, an immersive school based on his personal experiences in his original Taliesin home (biography). He also began working on his Taliesin West house, and the Fallingwater Residence during the mid 1930s (biography). Frank Lloyd Wright died April 9, 1959 at the age of 91. His career was based on his own imaginative ideas without the formal training needed. He set out to do what he wanted and became a success. Therefore, Wright established himself as the most influential architect of the 20th century and made a career of a
