The architect used natural and artificial light; artificial light was used in walls in the upper galleries, while rooftop openings appear to nature the museum galleries. Light was shown as the power of creativity in the building. The Guggenheim Museum lies beneath the city. In front of the entrance area an empty space give the visitors an impression of simplicity. The atrium is sort of hybrid, neither outside nor inside the building, it is open to the city and the river with glass walls. The design structure of the atrium is the first on display. However, the space is tightened bound with contrast and confront. The atrium connects Galleries in the 1st floor, though corridors connect the 2 upper floors.
