Francisco Goya’s painting called Saturn or Saturn Devouring his Son is one of his Black Paintings that he painted when he lived in France. Even though the painting goes by the name Saturn Devouring his son you are not able to see if the corpse that is being eaten is a male or a female. That is why I personally think that the painting is about Goya’s dissatisfaction with politics and people. The way I see the painting is that Saturn represents politics and the body he is eating represent the people that politics destroys. I came to this conclusion on the painting because of Goya liked to paint about what was happing currently in politics.
