Francis Willard Elementary School is located in a Urban city called Arkansas City, Kansas which is located about 20 miles north of the Oklahoma border and 45 minutes away from the big town Wichita Kansas. The population in this town is approximately 12,00- 12,500 . This city is in between low income and middle income families the average income is about 35,000 whereas the state as Kansas income is around 50,000 according to the data city. As not only can you tell that Arkansas City is low income family but also is a given according to the KSDE website with how many students have free and reduced lunch the percentage is 75 if you think about it that number largely divided among the city of m.Arkansas City.
The 3 principal races in this town is white (73%), hispanic (17%) and last but not least is black (3%). Within the school the numbers don’t drastically change but is a decline within the numbers from the town whites (56%), hispanics (30%) and all other ethnicity is below 10%. Playing music will help the musical learnings and doing hands on activities will help kinesthetic learners and then giving certain kids instructions help the linguistic learners.
Low income students- I will make sure that every child will be able to have the same access as others because I know that some families won’t have enough money to go buy extra for childrens, I also will make sure we do snack time and provides snacks for children because many children might not get enough nutrients they need. I will also celebrate birthdays because some families might not make it known to celebrates
