“Presents!” Anne exclaims. She is giving out presents like a young girl and then she comes to Peter. She hands him a paper ball with a string attached. She made this herself, showing that she has creativity, playfulness, and imagination.Throughout the play called The Diary Of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett.

For example, When Mr. Frank states that Anne will like Peter, she says,”I certainly hope so, since he's the only boy I'm likely to see for months and months.” She was playing around in that statement but at the same time she was serious and that's what makes it a little funny.

Even though the phrase “point of view” is just three measly words, it is one of the most important choices an author needs to make while deciding how they are going to write their story. Will they write in first person and use “I”, and “we”, or write in 3rd person and address people by their names or use pronouns like “he” or “they”? Although many people decide to write in third person point of view, both the stories The Georges and the Jewels by Jane Smiley, and Black Beauty: The Autobiography of a Horse by Anna Sewell develop their characters through first person point of view. The Georges and the Jewels is a story in perspective of a little girl named Abby, who has had both the good and the bad with horses. She has been thrown off of her…

Kristina Snyder Ms. Maylett Honors Freshmen English/Period 7 8 October 2015 Graceful Growth When my teacher Ms. Erin first pulled me aside after class to tell me I would be Clara in The Nutcracker, squealing with joy, I grinned from ear to ear, hardly able to contain my excitement. I can still remember learning and practicing all the complicated steps, buying my own glittery nutcracker to use for the performances, and getting fit for the baby pink costume and soft, chiffon, white dress. Tiptoeing backstage as I warmed up, the warmth of the lights hugging my skin, and the glimmer of my white nightgown, these performances gave me memories as everlasting as the ocean’s tides. That weekend only one thing held me back, the pain of sharp needles…

The Girl With All the Gifts is a novel that can only be described as electrifying, and it is by far the book I have most enjoyed reading in the past year. This dystopian science fiction novel by M.R. Carey features Melanie, a sharp minded girl existing in a time where humans have been nearly wiped out by the insect-pathogenising fungi, Ophiocordyceps unilateralis. After a disastrous attack on Melanie’s home and the home of many other kids just like her, Melanie is thrust into a battle for her life and the lives of what is left of humanity. I admire how M.R. Carey puts a unique spin on your typical zombie story and proves to you that zombies aren’t always symbols of hopelessness and loss, as they are often depicted in the media.…

In this play there are many significant objects that have a deep underlying meaning. “The Glass Menagerie” is not just the title of this play; it is also the foreground for it, and a major part of understanding Laura Wingfield’s character.
