I agree that the fracking debate has sparked a lot of controversy, especially in the Pennsylvania region, recently. What is comes down to in my opinion are business versus environmental interests in the broadest sense. There is no question that fracking emits oil and natural gas that is a beneficial source of energy. However, that consequences of that process are what is the problem. Harming the water supply of the locals as well as damaging countless acres of property due to fracking are main concerns. I was unaware of the taxation issue in specifically Pennsylvania that exacerbates the environmental problems, which are ultimately the make or break dilemma regarding the fracking debate.
