When thinking of Fr. Arrupe’s motto on educating men and women for others, Thea is the first person to come to mind. There has been countless events where I have personally witnessed Thea being a person for others. Knowing her for more than ten years, she is the kind of person who would spend her entire day at church for catechetical classes to discuss the teachings of Jesus Christ, later on staying up till the early mornings to finish her assignments, setting aside her wants and needs. Additionally, one memorable event that I have noticed Thea being a helpful person for others was when she spoke about a process known as Total Consecration. Early in my junior year of high school, Thea did Total Consecration which is a thirty-three day preparation through Mother Mary where one person undergoes a series of tasks to become ready for consecration to Jesus Christ. Almost a year after Thea’s process, she approached me and asked if I was interested in doing Total Consecration myself. Initially I was reluctant, but I decided to do so because I knew it would be a remarkable opportunity to strengthen my faith, later discovering how wonderful the process would be. Completing the thirty-three day exercise made me realize that Thea cares to the least of her neighbors. She did not have to approach me about Total Consecration, yet she did. This has impacted me because it demonstrates the good in people
