A horrendous and contagious disease that people carried around that covered the surface of the skin with rashes and bumps. There was no way of curing it at that time, so majority of people would accept the barbaric treatment they received for having leprosy. But there was a man who chose to come to Christ and ask him if he could heal him. Jesus touched him and transformed him, and soon enough the man no longer had leprosy. Jesus said directly to him, “That you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them. Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news.” Jesus, the powerful and loving man that he was, just wanted the leper to proclaim the good news of Christ. Mother Teresa was a Roman Catholic nun born on 26 August 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia. Drana Bojaxhiu, her mother was someone who had a major effect on her life. She taught her to love and help others, which is what she did from then onwards. She started the missionaries of charities, a religious congregation that looked after those who needed to be taken care of. Though, she may not have the ability to heal someone with leprosy unlike Jesus did, she was more than happy to devote her life in helping and assisting the lives of others.
