Cottagers, their guests, and the public are invited to participate in the Quaker tradition of “relaxation, cheerfulnessm and good will” through The Foxhowe Association’s inspiring, educational, and entertaining programs. This summer, the calendar is packed with speakers, performers, and events for all interests and ages,, with a line-up that includes:
June
• The season launches with dinner and movie night. The film Spotlight is prelude to a July presentation by Ben Bradlee, Jr., former editor of the Boston Globe. The Academy-Award winning film chronicles the newspaper’s Pulitzer Prize-winning investigation into sexual abuse by priests in the Boston archdiocese.
July
• The Wyoming Barbershop Harmony Choir enlivens the pool …show more content…
• Look for the stars as BH Conservation Foundation and Foxhowe head to Metzgar’s Farm for a night of stargazing with local astronomer Rich Grebb.
• Bear expert Rodger Spotts returns to enthrall youngsters of all ages with his expansive knowledge of Pennsylvania’s bears. The Conservation Foundation co-hosts the program, followed by a Lot and Cot ice cream social.
August
• Buck Hill’s own Mark Malloch-Brown is a former UK government minister and United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, as well as development specialist at the World Bank and United Nations, and a communications consultant and journalist. He will share his international perspective on the American political scene.
• Bluegrass band Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys spark the toe tapping at the Tennis Tea with their unique blend of jamming, soul, blues, folk, jazz, and even some techno beat.
• Geologist Jeff Fox explains the rock formations as he leads a hike on some of BH’s favorite glacial erratic spots. The following evening, Jeff heads to the Tennis Tea for his presentation on climate change.
