Fowler Museum Project
The Fowler Museum was an interesting experience. The name of the Exhibition is Intersections: World Arts/ Local Lives, the exhibition doesn’t have an ending. The name of the organizers and curators were not provided. The art is interesting for the facts that the people who made the art pieces put a lot of dedication and time in wanting to make them look great. The first section in the exhibition is the Art and Action which is all about artifacts of how people who made them went far beyond the boundaries to make a statement through their creativeness. The next couple of sections were the Art and Knowledge and the Art and Power. The art work in the Art and power section had a couple figures that were a bit scary it was darker than any of the other sections and you just felt that the art pieces …show more content…
It is said that the Virgin Mary was traveling through Guatemala and baby Jesus Christ fell asleep and they decided to sleep there. Guatemala was under the control of Spain so they decided to adopt the Virgin of the Rosary. They promised the Virgin that they would not stop fighting until they set themselves free from the Spaniards. In the year 1833 she was crowned the “queen of Guatemala”. She was crowned in the principal plaza in Guatemala on January 26, 1834 in a huge ceremony. The ceremony was so big that it had to be held outside because there wasn’t a church big enough to hold the amount of people that had gathered for the celebration. They emphasize on celebrating October 7th and having a huge feast on that day. In other parts of the country such as Europe October 7th is celebrated because it marks the day the Christian fleet defeated the ottoman fleet in the battle of Lepanto. When the victory was announced Pope Pius declared October 7th the day of the day Lady of Victory which was later changed to Our Lady of the
