Holidays are a special time of year. Family gathers, friends cherish, and love is surrounding. My favorite holiday is the Fourth of July. The Fourth of July shows how much America loves it's home and it's freedom. Also including all the food, and fireworks, and American spirit. The first reason the forth of July is my favorite is because it is festive. My family wears all the red, white, and blue we own. Second, the Fourth of July is in the summer. Summer is my all time favorite season. I have no worries in the world, except celebrating my countries birthday. Lastly, the Fourth of July is also a time to give thanks. Soldiers and veterans sacrificed a lot and deserve not only to be thanked on Veterans Day and the Fourth of July, but everyday.

First we will quickly establish the historical precedent of people going to extreme lengths to secure economic stability. Our first example is from our own American Revolution. Although there were scuffles and disagreements with the British prior to 1764, such as the responses to the Proclamation Line of 1763, these were minor and any anger that arose died down quickly. However, in 1764 the British Parliament passed the Sugar Act, placing heavy taxes on sugar and other basic goods that every colonist needed. This created huge new economic burdens for colonists, and this triggered the sequence of events that led to the Declaration of Independence.…
