A person’s action towards others can create a positive or negative impact that may affect how that person will live, generating a domino effect of events that can get out of control. The four-way test consists of questions that determine the motivation and honest intention of a person’s action. Implementing all questions of the four-way test to everyday decisions will be able to help a person make constructive choices in life that will help the people surrounding them in a beneficial way. Honesty is the best policy in terms of speaking the truth to others, evading the unpleasant effects of spreading lies. Throughout high school, gossip spreads like a wildfire moving from student to student between every class creating an environment where a person is unable to function. In groups activities, there is always that one person who is never included in any groups, sitting off to the side in their lonesome. Thinking whether or not if it is “beneficial to leave someone out?”, you should consider inviting them to be apart of your team. By leaving them out, that person’s learning is inhibited by the loss of ideas getting circulated around towards them. When getting into small groups, I try to include those who are unable to have the courage to join a group/ Overall, truth, fairness, goodwill, and benefits all contribute to the positive intentions of your actions. By avoiding the spread of lies, gossip of a certain person can be prevented from negatively affecting their life. Deciding the fairness of a situation can stop bullying from becoming worse while acting out on good intentions can lead to everlasting friendships. Before acting out on what you say, think, or do, use the four-way test to consider your actions can benefit to those around
