Four Statement of Leadership Louise Penny is a Canadian author who writes mystery books. He wrote a series about a character named Inspector Gamache who always asked his new recruits to write down four statements. He has them do this to help them with their leadership skills. He believes they are the important for his recruits to use. These four statements are: I was wrong, I don’t know, I need help, and I’m sorry. These four statements can be used in everyday life. I use many of these in my life. Some are harder to use and some are easier to use but all of them are important. How I use them is part of who I am. In my life one is easy to use, one is hard to use, and how people in my life use these statements. The statement that is easiest for me is to say I am sorry. It is easy for me to admit that I did not do something right. An example is when I was a junior in high school. I went to a career center for vet assisting. The school …show more content…
My dad has to apologize at his work when he does not do his job correctly. At his work, he has to ask for help to get his job done. My mom has to apologize at her work if she does not put an item on the correct shelf or if she does not know how to help a customer. She has to ask for help when she does not know where an item goes or if she is not sure how to help a customer. Both of them learned that they did their jobs better when they used these statements. Without these statements, my parents would not be able to do their jobs correctly and could possible be fired. They also learned that using these statements in their personal lives made it easier to have good relationships with the people around them. By apologizing it helped the people around them forgive them faster. When they asked for help it made the other people feel helpful. They both struggle with these statements just like I do. My mom does not like to admit she is wrong and my dad does not like to ask for
