The four stages of the catechumenate are precatechumenate, catechumenate, purification, enlightmnet, or Illumination, and mystagogia. The first stage of catechumenate is precatechumenate; this stage is about evangelization and initial conversion. He or she heard the good news and wanted to learn more.
