I believe that the four pillars of the National Honor Society are fundamental to the success of the society as a whole, as well as its individual members. Without strong character, honors students do not posses the leadership skills and the service-oriented attitude to experience success. Through ones service and leadership, scholarship is achieved and maintained. By making a commitment to learning, an individual effectively displays his or her character. In a way, each pillar has a connection to all of the others. Maintaining just one pillar leads to destruction, while a society of members possessing strengths and weaknesses in each category contributes to the overall society’s success.
