Four Learning Patterns

Improved Essays
Today I am going to examine learning patterns and the roles they play in my daily life. These four learning patterns have distinct features that make them unique. These four learning patters have thoughts, feelings, and actions. I have a Use First pattern because that pattern is a filter wide open within my brain-mind interface. For my learning pattern I use the Use First pattern with sequence because I strive on neatness. I always have to have everything in order. I am a clean freak. I always have to have a clean house, clean kids and clean cars. After I achieve this I feel complete. Having everything around me nice and neat helps me to be a strong-willed learner. I am also a hands on learner. I was a machine operator for 5 years

I know how to help others without letting them crutch on me, and I’d like to say that I know how to be an encouraging person based on caring for my mother.…

My personal learning style is kinesthetic. I like to have a feel for the particular assignment. For example, when I was in elementary school, I remember one of my teacher was explaining math and for some reason I was not getting it. Teaching Style of an ISFJ With each unique personality, comes a unique learning style. The way a person learns and interprets information impacts their ability to process knowledge and with that, what they’ve learned from it. By assessing one’s own personality type through the “Jung Myers Briggs Typology”, each individual is able to identify the scope of one’s character and further understand the nature of their behavior. By using the personality types described, someone is then able to analyze the five basic stimuli in Dunn and Dunn’s Learning Style that identifies elements affecting a person’s ability to learn and examine their own preferences. However, I also know that I have some bad learning habits and come across to others as condescending, or not easy to…

While learning allows us to gain knowledge on a subject, learning from our mistakes inspires us to make our own understanding and truths about the world around us and in our personal lives. Experience is the key that opens the door to wisdom. In “Solitude and Leadership,” Deresiewicz questions our system of education that trains students to not be able to think for themselves. Similarly, Hesse uses Siddhartha’s journey to enlightenment to illuminate the idea that certain revelations cannot be taught; they must be personally experienced. Putting learning first is advantageous and disadvantageous in certain aspects.…

“The machine does not isolate us from the great problems of nature but plunges us more deeply into them.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupery I relate to this thought in my quest to find sustainable technologies because the work of an engineer is to “enable the future” not merely to “foresee” it. As a mechanical engineer and a founder & head for a sustainable technology based start-up I realized the importance of technology enabled sustainability for a healthier and superior future and hence the need for Masters in Mechanical Engineering was felt. I believe that the acquisition of knowledge can never be a discrete accomplishment. It is the culmination of continued effort and the prelude to further analyze and…
