To begin, there were four Gospels written, they are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and they are found in that order in the Christian New Testament. These four Gospels reference the Hebrew Bible in several passages to show the legitimacy of Jesus as messiah. In delivering this message, the Gospels also explain Jesus as God’s son which causes quite a controversy to say the least. Jesus as messiah is still disputed almost 2,000 years later.…

A large part of what compiles the New Testament of the Bible is the recollection of the life and works of Jesus. This collection is commonly known as the Gospel. The Greek word “gospel” translates to “Good news”. What was considered to be such good news in these accounts? There are obviously a number of themes that run through the Gospels but one of the larger recurring message that appears throughout this good news is that we are able to find joy in and through suffering.…

Studying the New Testament Gospels requires one to look in-depth at the similarities and differences among these gospels and use those observations to gain insights into the messages behind them. Kurt Aland’s book Synopsis of the Four Gospels is helpful in this endeavor because it explores the four gospels and their stories into corresponding pericopes. The pericope focused on in this paper is Pericope 59, which dissects Matthew 5:43-48 and Luke 6:27-28, 32-36 and their versions of loving one’s enemies (Aland 55). In Matthew’s version of loving one’s enemies, Jesus quotes Leviticus 19:18 but says that people should love their enemies and “pray for those who persecute [them]” (New Oxford Annotated Bible, Matt.…

In this essay, I will be talking about what I believe to be true from what Jesus tells us in the Bible, about being the Son of God and how He was here to die on the cross for our sins, showing everyone who He was and who ever believe in Him is save, or healed if they were sick. In this paper, I will be talking about the trustworthiness and historicity of the Gospels. The historical reliability of the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ miracles, and did Jesus claim to be God. Did his disciples believe he was God? The accuracy of the resurrection accounts in the Gospels, that is, did Jesus rise bodily from the dead?…

The four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all portray the miraculous work and life of Jesus Christ. They provide historic information about Jesus Christ that Christians believe God used to draw them into a deeper personal relationship with Him. Described in the Old Testament, a great leader who would deliver Israel from control just as King David, came to be and was born of a virgin. “When the New Testament refers to Jesus as Christ, it’s not referring to Jesus’ surname but rather to Jesus’ title as messiah, as king” (Hiles and Smith, 2014). In Colossians 1, Jesus’ true identity is stated as the “image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15).…

The three Gospels share some similarities. They all tell the story of women going to the tomb of Jesus looking for His body on the first day of the week after Sabbath. The stone that was covering the entrance of the tomb was moved so the women could enter. The women were given the message/command to tell the apostles that Jesus has risen, and He is headed to Galilee before them. The women were frightened by the news and of the source(s) of the news.…

I chose to write about Matthew and John because they are the first and last of the Gospels. I am also the most interested in these two books since one is a synoptic Gospel and the other is not. Matthew and John are both Gospels. However, Matthew is a synoptic gospel and John is not. John is different than all the other Gospels and is not considered a synoptic Gospel because it does not contain the birth of Jesus.…

The four Gospels in the bible are accredited to four writers: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The gospels were split into two groups, which consisted of the synoptic Gospels and John’s gospel. The synoptic gospels consisted of Matthew, Mark and Luke’s gospels. The reason for this was because of the difference between the writings. The synoptic gospels were considered similar, but John did not really contain the same similarities that the other three writings had in common.…

Introduction into this book and videos covers how we need to set long term goals, but before doing so we need to ask ourselves some questions. Before we can set those goals we should seek to know Christ. This can be done by reading the four gospels and seeing what Jesus did, what we can learn from him, and how does it relate to us? Jesus’ last commandment was to go and make disciples, and while principles never change, our methods have to change in order to reach the current generation, and each beyond. As we get into the chapters we learn that men are God’s method and while they may seem unlearned or ignorant by man’s standards, God uses those willing to learn and raises them into leadership.…
