Four Frames In Reframing Organizations

In the novel Reframing Organizations: Artistry, Choice, and Leadership, the authors, Lee G. Bolman and Terrence E. Deal, propose utilizing frames to examine the effects of sociological phenomenon’s, such as McDonaldization, on society. Frames are essentially alternate points of view which people can use to translate circumstances, influence judgements, analyze organizations, etc. The author suggests four frames: the structural frame, human resource frame, symbolic frame, and the political frame. I feel that the structural, human resource and symbolic frame are helpful in breaking down McDonaldization.
The structural frame is exceedingly goal-oriented and orderly. It centers around tasks, realities, and logic. This is certainly the most inescapable
