Four Day School Week Research Paper

Improved Essays
I believe a four-day school week is a good idea. It will benefit students and teachers in many ways. There is a lot of stress in schools sometimes. We all need a peace of mind, I know I do sometimes. Sometimes, teachers could really use a peace of mind also, maybe they wouldn't yell so much.

It gives teachers time to take away all their stress. Kids can have more time to do their school work instead of handing in incomplete work to their teachers. Teachers can have more time with their families than being around and teaching bad kids who don't listen. I think the whole school environment would be a much more quieter and relaxing place to be, if we students had a four day school week. I think teachers would appreciate this as well.

With only 4 classes each day, the passing times are cut in half compared to a traditional schedule resulting in more time in class rather than in the hallways. Teachers overall will only have to teach 3 classes per day and have a 90 minute prep. This means teachers will have less students to teach at one time.…

Eliminating one day per week could be enough to motivate the students to attend class more frequently. As a consequence to this solution, the attendance policy would be more strict, fewer days would be allowed to miss, and classes would be longer. Nevertheless, with a four-day school week, students would be able to fit more activities in on their three day break for friends and family, relaxation, and job responsibilities.…
