Four Comproachs To Respect To Environmental Approach To The Environment

There are four approaches that organizations can take with respect to environmental issues and going green, namely legal approach, market approach, stakeholder approach and activist approach. Each of the approaches shows different level of social responsiveness. In fact, they can be link with the corporate social responsibilities which also divided into four categories: economic responsibilities, legal responsibilities, ethical responsibilities and philantrophic responsibilities. They are correlated to each other.
An example of company which implement legal approach is McDonald. This approach is also known as the light green approach. Organizations simply do what is required legally. They exhibit little environmental sensitivity. They obey

An organisation or company may adopt this approach when they become more sensitive to environmental issues. Organizations respond to the environmental preferences of their customers. They provide whatever customers demand in terms of environmentally-friendly products. This approach illustrates social responsiveness and achieved legal responsibilities as for the CSR. For example, Subway’s main mission is to serve healthy food. It offers fresh, green, leafy vegetables in the Subway sandwiches. Embracing their slogan ‘Subway Eat Fresh’, they are known with their unique health policy. Among the fast food chain restaurant, Subway provides a healthier choice of fast food to the society. They achieved legal responsibilities whereas business is expected to comply with the laws and regulations follow by governments as the ground rules, not just according to profit motive. In term of social responsibility, they fulfil legal responsibilities which reflect a view of "codified ethics" in the sense that they embody basic notions of fair operations as established by our lawmakers (Corporate Social Responsibilty & greening Management, 2012). “The SUBWAY® system is committed to providing a wide range of great tasting, healthier food choices while reducing our environmental footprint and creating a positive influence in the communities we serve around the world” (Social Responsibility, n.d). They also involve in sustainable sourcing from streamlining their supply chain or using a strict Vendor Code of Conduct that ensures their high food quality and safety standards in order to reduce energy, water usage, waste, also taking care of the environment too (Social Responsibility, n.d). They are committed to being good global citizens; to encouraging healthy, active lifestyles and to making a difference where we live and work around the
