Richard’s goal was to introduce a side of Washington that most of the world has never seen. So when done we would be enlightened by his vigorous character and he did everything with purpose by paving the way for Presidents, Generals and all Leaders of the future. Richard Brookhiser is American journalist, biographer, and historian. He hasn’t written many books about important historical figures such as Alexander Hamilton, Abraham Lincoln, and James Madison. He dives deep, showing readers more than just the public eye and what made these people so crucial to our own history. His bias lies with revealing the truth and nothing else, by believing that George Washington was a real man that has an impressive ambition and strong voice. By making new generations aware that the George Washington they know is nowhere close to he really was. Some argue that metaphorically calling him our “Father” and we his “children” is misleading and unnecessary. “We speak of founding fathers, in the plural. Yet there has been only one father of this country……...That title is the greatest barrier to our appreciation of him now, for never was the comparative term of the metaphor so problematic”(page 159). Richard Brookhiser depicted George in a way to do him justice as well as, inform the reader about the real George
