Biography of Diana Princess of Wales Diana was born on July 1, 1961, a direct descendent of King Charles II, she became Lady Diana Spencer in 1975 when her father became eighth Earl of Spencer. She lived with her father and three siblings after her parent divorced in 1969, father Edward John Spencer, Viscount Althorpe, and mother Francis Ruth Burke Roche, Viscountess Althorpe, and later Honorable Francis Shand Kydd. Phase 2 The two categories I believe Diana personality fit into was psychodynamic and behavioristic. Psychodynamic develops relationships and trust, nurturing parental relationships developing a person. Diana’s childhood was not a nurturing one, the divorce and the feeling of abandonment when her mother left, left a profound effect on her. She often heard her parents fight, seeing her father being abusive towards her mother, slapping her across the face, Diana became the one to nurture others becoming a substitute mother for her brother. When Diana was nine she was sent to a private school she was scared, lonely, and shy and never praised for her work, which caused low self-esteem, her school work suffered she failed her classes twice and eventually dropped out of school.
