This case involves the death of 78 year old male Keith Sidney Boyd. He was found by Pasadena Paramedics #36 Paz unresponsive sitting on a chair in the bedroom of his residence. He had a history of several medical problems. There were no obvious signs of foul play.
INVESTIGATION:
On 09-30-16 at approximately 1139 hours, Officer Harrell #3441 and I were dispatched to the Rosewood Court located at 1888 N. Fair Oaks Avenue regarding a person found deceased at the above residence. Dispatch stated Pasadena Paramedics were on scene.
Upon our arrival, Pasadena Fire Department Rescue Engine #36 / Paramedics #36 (RA #36 Paz) were on scene. I walked in front of apartment #323 and contacted PFD Paz, who stated there were no obvious signs of foul play. He stated when they arrived; they found the decedent sitting on a chair in his bedroom, deceased. Paz pronounced the time of death to be 1105 hours. The decedent was wearing black sweatpants and was shirtless. I did not see any lividity set into any parts of the decedent’s body. There did not appear to be any unusual circumstances or signs of foul play. I took photos of the scene (see attached photos).
I contacted Witness PFD Paz, who was on scene. Paz told me the following information: The Rosewood Court Manager Arax Yahya telephone the fire department regarding the decedent. Yahya reportedly advised that she had not seen the decedent for approximately two days. Yahya was concerned about his wellbeing.
