Foster Children: Annotated Bibliography

Foster parent, Dawn O’Neil, stated that the reason she requested this review is because she prefers foster children Ciary Dueno, Libasse Dueno, and Nicholas Dueno returned to her care. Ms. O’Neil expressed that she has been a foster parent for Leake and Watts Services for approximately six years. Ms. O’Neil voiced that she never had an incident or accident involving a foster child requiring immediate medical assistance. Ms. O’Neil uttered that she loved all the foster children she cared for and she did not abuse them. Ms. O’Neil indicated that education is important to her and views herself as an advocate for the children.

Ms. O’Neil stated that does not feel that she has a good relationship with the agency. Ms. O’Neil expressed that both her and Ms. Molina commenced this process of being foster parents together and there were very few negative incidents involving a child in their care. Ms. O’Neil expressed that Ms. Payne mentioned a previous incident involved her and a former foster children which occurred in 2013. Ms. O’Neil conveyed that the incident involved this former foster child throwing an umbrella towards her head resulting in her sustained severer headaches for a long period of time. O’Neil acknowledged during the children’s initial placement in her home, there were instances when she took the children to Ms. Molina’s residence to spend the night while she went out of town to complete requirements to obtain a professional license. Ms. O’Neil conveyed that during those instances, Ms. Molina was still a foster parent for Leake and Watts and the agency was aware that the children were sending nights in her residence. Ms. O’Neil articulated that the agency did not have any issue with the children spending nights with Ms. Molina.
