From unmanned flights, to artificial intelligence, these computer systems will be a necessity for deep (and near) space exploration. The Forty Acres Scholars Program could allow me to pursue this interest with greater attention and time. Instead of a part-time job to pay off debt, I would pursue an internship with NASA to see where my future UT education could be put to use. Beyond this financial relief, the expanse and access to the Texas Exes network would open many connections to exploring this passion. Graduates such as Hans Mark, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and the founders/students of the MSTC program see this rising space necessity, among many others. Any interaction with such inspirational models (made more plausible through the Forty Acres Scholars) would further my drive and confidence to expand the future of space exploration.
