She was pacing, back and forth, her deep auburn hair looked sloppy, as if she had not brushed it in days. She wore a charming black silk dress, that appeared to have not been ironed and she looked upset. I began to feel guilt, she looked absent, just wandering in the plaza. I began to approach her, thinking about what to say, maybe if I calm her worried soul, she won 't wonder where her dear Fortunato is.
Upon closer inspection, her make-up had been smeared, her eyes looked disoriented, “ My lady, how lovely you look tonight” I said.
“H-hello Montresor, I wasn 't expecting to see anyone out here so late” Her expression turned pale, ghostly. “Well I do enjoy my late night walks, what brings you to the plaza so late?” I asked with question in my voice to clear up any suspicion.
“Well you see my husband, Fortunato, he is a pretty big name around here, i 'm sure you have heard of him. He has not come home yet and I am worried. I was going to call the police bu-”

I sprinted home, my thoughts even more blurry than before. I need a disguise, to escape. I burst into my powder room and I began to shave my oval shaped head, hair falling to my feet. I shaved my beard and dyed my hair. Police lights flashed in the distance, they were looking for me. Did they know where i resided? I needed to clear all evidence, I gathered matches, and gasoline. I was headed to the catacombs. I dared to look back, the moonlight was turning into dawn and i was trotting at a fast pace to the burial site. My mind was in a blur, i was shaken, petrified. I just wanted to get this over with but, my attempt to do so was cut short by the seizure of the same civilian i had told my secret to. He was waiting for me, at the catacombs. I was captured, terror struck me, i knew what they did to people like
