As the second largest city in Indiana, Fort Wayne is widely known for its Hoosier hospitality and high quality of living. Recognized as an All-American City and a Most Livable City, the low cost of living is a definite draw. The history of Ft. Wayne actually dates back to the 1800's. The city was known as a crossroads by early settlers and Native Americans due to its strategic location. The city is named after General "Mad" Anthony Wayne; he was a widely known military leader who is credited with building the first American fort.

Wayne is a great place to live for many reasons including below average cost of living when it comes to housing, groceries and transportation. The city is known for a large variety of entertainment and a booming downtown area. The city is home to multiple minor league sports teams, museums, art galleries, a zoo, an orchestra and 86 public parks. Events such as the Johnny Appleseed Festival along with events at Indiana University-Purdue University are annual draws to the ctiy.

Top employers include Lincoln Financial, General Motors, Parkview Health System, and Lutheran Health Network. Residents enjoy one of the lowest state income tax rates in the country.

Shoppers will enjoy the open air Jefferson Pointe shopping center, while kids love the zoo and culture and art enthusiasts can enjoy a performance at the Embassy Theater. If you are looking for placing to run or bike, the Rivergreenway is the destination that connects the city's parks.

Due to its central location, getaway options are vast. Enjoy a weekend getaway on the shores of Michigan or head to nearby Sandusky to take in the thrill of Cedar Point Amusement Park. Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and Michigan abound with getaway options and are all easy to get
